Dance Marathon Programs Host Virtual Events, Announce Fundraising Totals

During the weeks of March 13-April 12, more than 40 colleges and independent high schools hosted their Dance Marathon events and collectively raised over $5.93 million #ForTheKids treated in their local communities! Due to campuses closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of these campuses rose above the challenges and hosted virtual events to engage their participants and continue to raise funds and celebrated the contributions of their participants from the past year.

After a record-breaking fundraising year for the Miracle Network Dance Marathon movement in 2019, the 2020 year is already off to a great start, with over $26 million having been raised for local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,

We are so eternally grateful to all the people, corporations, entities, etc. that helped us in every way, shape, or form to get to that final number we just revealed tonight. During this time, FGCU Dance Marathon cannot help but think of all the Miracle Kids and families at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. Our organization’s mission is to raise funds and awareness for CMN Hospitals, and now more than ever they need our support. WE are Change Makers for kids’ health. Many of these patients at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital are at the greatest risk of contracting COVID-19 and suffering the health complications due to the virus because they are immunocompromised. Other families will protect their children through isolation, meaning their ability to ‘just be a kid’ has once again been put on the back burner. In a time where our daily lives have been uprooted, you all remained committed as Change Makers to make a difference in the lives of kids and families you will probably never meet. And on behalf of you, a community of loyal supporters and advocates, FGCU Dance Marathon will be donating $25,864.89 to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, where they will continue to provide the best care possible to some of our most vulnerable community members.Thank you for your commitment to our cause. Thank you for being Change Makers for kids’ health in our community.

As Staff, we can all agree that everything that could have gone wrong this year did, however, the best thing about Pitt Dance Marathon is that it’s more than just a student organization, it’s a family. Through thick and thin, through a pandemic and cancellations, we still raised $176,217 for the kids. That’s 176,217 miracles and that is outstanding and certainly something to celebrate. We know this isn’t the Dance Marathon that we wanted and worked for, but I think we can all agree that this year made us closer than ever. Thank you to everyone single person that donated and supported us. Thank you to the Miracle Kids for encouraging us with your laughs and smiles. Thank you to our advisors for guiding us through this year. We couldn’t have done it without you and we couldn’t begin to thank you enough. This one’s for you, Miracle Kids. Everything we do is for you. Hail 2 Kids, always and forever! ?? #PDM2020 #OurVisionTheirFuture #ShareYourPDMLove
