Walmart Goes All in to Play Yellow!

This year The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship was the first LPGA tournament to participate in Play Yellow. Play Yellow is a new partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals recently launched by Barbara and Jack Nicklaus. This partnership aims to help the 10 million kids that are treated at local children’s hospitals every year.

To promote this new initiative the tournament used the color yellow in its golf shirts, golf balls and pin flags. “The overall mission of our event is to help improve the quality of life in Northwest Arkansas, so these gifts and our other charitable engagement during tournament week will further support and grow that mission,” said Jay Allen, tournament chairman. Following the tournament a ceremony was held at Arkansas Children’s Northwest campus. Here representatives presented a grant of $35,000 in support of the Play Yellow initiative.

In addition the Walmart Foundation presented a $240,000 grant to support the hospitals child oral health education and preventative care program.  Walmart has been a proud supporter of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for many years.
